Mardi Gras Fais Do-Do...Done!

What a lively evening it was at the Union Arts Council's Mardi Gras Fais Do-Do on Feb. 8.  Great music by the fabulously talented Sarah Jayde and the "Sharecroppers" Cajun band and great food by Joe and Susan Cusimano  got the audience happy, happy, happy, and up on their feet dancing.

Two tables were filled with silent auction items that enticed people to bid like crazy.  The final tally of silent auction sales:  $500.

Thanks to EVERYONE who helped out with the event, attended, talked it up around the community, or donated auction items.

Mission accomplished!

A primary goal of the Union Arts Council's Competitive Art Exhibition on Dec. 1 was to donate proceeds to the Farmerville High School Fine Arts Program.  We did that on Jan. 10, when a check for $500 was presented to Courtney Mardis, FHS art teacher and coordinator of the Fine Arts Program.  Shown here at the presentation are (from left) Kathy Watkins, president of the Arts Council; Mardis; and Bob Ward, coordinator of the Competitive Art Exhibition.  Thanks to everyone who helped make the Art Exhibition a success!  Plans are already being made to do it again next December.
